Science Trilogy Classes
With our Year 11 students on study leave, we have greater availability of science staff and can split up the Year 10 science trilogy classes into the smaller groups they will be in for Year 11. Having more classes (10 instead of 8) inevitably means that the class many students are currently in may change going into next week. This does not necessarily mean that students are moving ‘up’ or ‘down’ sets, we have reshuffled the classes based on teacher input and student potential as well as looking at performance in the recent mock exams. Students will be informed of their new classes by their current teachers.
Please email Dr Dodds (fdodds@lymmhigh.org.uk) if you have any queries.

Letter from the new Head of Year 8 – Miss Taylor
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to introduce myself as the new Head of Year 8. As you may be aware, Mrs Morris will be completing her maternity cover as Head of Year at the end of this half term, and I will be taking the lead with this year group as of Monday 6th June 2022. I know that many of you will share my appreciation for the effort and hard work that Mrs Morris has dedicated to the year group, and I know she will be missed from the role.
I know that such a change can be difficult for children, especially when they have built positive relationships with key members of staff. I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you all that I have worked very closely with the pastoral team in my current role as Assistant Headteacher, and have taught many students within the year group, giving me a good knowledge of the students who are due to be within my immediate care.
I have previously worked as a Head of Year for many years, and started at Lymm High School as the Head of Year 11. I hope that this gives you reassurance that I have the necessary skillset to support your child with their needs and will make it my priority to ensure that I am up to speed with any issues or concerns that are currently ongoing. Mrs Morris and I are already in regular contact regarding the year group, and I have no doubt that she will continue to support me through the transitional period of changing roles.
I will be working alongside Miss Brown, the new Pastoral Support Manager for Year 8 as Mrs Williams leaves the pastoral team. Miss Brown is also extremely experienced in pastoral care and being based in Student Services means she is well known amongst students. We are extremely lucky to have her working with the year group, and she is always on hand to support you with any issues or problems you may be facing during the school day at times where I may be teaching and cannot respond immediately.
If you would like the chance to speak to us, please feel free to email nbrown@lymmhigh.org.uk who will be able to assist with any queries. If you require further support from myself, Miss Brown will then make the necessary arrangements to ensure that we can arrange a suitable time to speak.
It is my pleasure to be embarking on this journey with you all, and supporting your child through their next few years at Lymm High School.
Kind regards,
Miss T. Taylor
Head of Year 8 / Associate Assistant Headteacher

Letter from the new Head of Year 7 – Mrs Wagstaff
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to introduce myself as the new Head of Year 7 from half term 6 onwards. It is my pleasure to be joining this year group and beginning my journey with you all. I am looking forward to getting to know our Year 7s and you as their parents/carers. I very much see this journey as a partnership between us to support your child through their next few years here at Lymm High School.
Such a change can be difficult for children, especially when they have built a positive relationship with key members of staff, however I can reassure you that having just seen our current Year 11 through the school since they were in Year 7, I have lots of experience in working with, and supporting, students. I work very closely with the pastoral team who already know our Year 7 cohort and it is very much a team effort. I am currently working with Mrs Worrall and Miss McMullen as part of a handover process, and they will continue to support me through this transition period.
Miss McMullen will remain the Pastoral Support Manager for Year 7, whom many of the students already know and have built good relationships with. She will also continue to be on hand to support you with any issues or concerns you may have during the school day when I may be teaching and cannot respond immediately.
If you would like the chance to speak to us, please feel free to email hmcmullen@lymmhigh.org.uk who will be able to assist with any queries. If you require further support from myself, Miss McMullen will then make the necessary arrangements to ensure that we can arrange a suitable time to speak.
Kind regards,
Mrs J Wagstaff
Head of Year 7
