E-Safety Information Evening – 13th January 2022

We have invited Kat Howard from Smoothwall to talk to us about how we can keep our children safe online. Kat Howard has been working in, and with, schools for over 17 years to develop their understanding of Online Safety and support school leadership teams to implement and embed policies, procedures, training and committees. She is passionate about the importance of online safety in schools and the wider community and provides advice and support on a day-to-day basis. During this workshop, Kat will give you lots of practical hints, tips and activities to support your young people in this environment.

Covid vaccinations for 12–15-year-olds

The school-aged immunisation team will be coming back to school the week commencing 10th January to offer eligible children their second dose of the Covid vaccine (children that have had their first dose at least 12 weeks previously). The team will also offer a first Covid vaccination to any child who has not yet been vaccinated.

Further details and consent information will be sent to you on the 4th January.

If you want your child to receive their vaccination (either first or second dose) out of school, you can book an appointment through the national booking service on the NHS website or by calling 119. Please note, all children that received their first dose of Covid vaccinations in school early October 2021 are eligible for their second dose from the 4th January 2022.

Household Support Fund

If your child is eligible for Free School Meals, you are eligible to receive the Household Support Fund (previously known as the Covid Winter Grant) to help with food and fuel costs over the winter period. Free School Meals & Holiday Activities Fund

For any parents whose child is eligible for Free School Meals:

Warrington Borough Council has expanded its Holiday Activities Fund. There are a number of holiday activities on offer free of charge over Christmas along with a free lunch for anyone eligible for Free School Meals who attends.
