Social Responsibility in the Community

On Monday, whilst the teachers are on Inset Day, we are asking our students to have a think about how they can provide a positive impact on the community.

The image shows all of our social responsibility hashtags. We want students to engage in an activity which demonstrates how they are embracing at least one of the hashtags. Email Form Tutors with the information and Hall points will be issued to all participants. Prizes will also be distributed to those students that have the biggest impact on the community.

John Berry

Today we have held a minute’s silence for a much-loved colleague and friend John Berry. John was our site supervisor and sadly passed away earlier this week after suffering a sudden heart attack. We will be holding a memorial service in school at some point during the summer term. Our thoughts and very best wishes are with the family he leaves behind.

Insightful History

A group of Year 12 and Year 11 History students have come together to create the school’s first online history magazine, Insight into History. The latest issue, released yesterday, has a theme of evil figures in History and features Pablo Escobar, Charles Manson and the Yorkshire Ripper.

In each issue ‘The interview’ reveals the opinions from some of Lymm High’s staff members. In the latest issue, Mrs Jennings focuses on the psychology behind evil and answers the question: What has a greater impact on making a person evil – is it nature or nurture?

Previous issues of the online magazine have focused on the quest for global equality, the Royal family and the 2020 election in America. To view the latest issue, click here.
