Information and Inspiration at School Careers Fair

Our Careers Evening attracted a packed crowd of enthusiastic students, parents and guardians.

The Main Hall was a hub of activity, featuring numerous companies, colleges, universities, and engaging talks from Lymm High Sixth Form, Warrington and Vale Royal College, an ex-student currently pursuing a Degree Apprenticeship, and our Careers Advisor.

The evening was bustling with energy as attendees explored the opportunities available. Parents and students had the chance to interact with representatives from:

  • Local and National Companies — These organisations provided invaluable insights into various industries, career opportunities, apprenticeships and the skills necessary for success in the workforce.
  • Colleges and Universities — Discussing their academic programmes, entry requirements and student life, giving students a view of higher and further education options.
  • Vocational and Training Providers — These exhibitors highlighted alternative educational pathways, such as apprenticeships and vocational training, which appealed to students interested in hands-on learning experiences.

The response from students and parents was overwhelmingly positive. Many students found the event incredibly informative, with one remarking, “It opened my eyes to career paths I hadn’t considered before”. Parents appreciated the breadth of information available and the quality of the presentations. Another told us, “The students at the Sixth Form stall were a credit to the school, so enthusiastic and positive about their studies. The young Degree Apprentices on all of the stalls were also really inspiring.”

Students expressed that the event helped them gain a clearer understanding of their options after leaving school. One student noted, “I now have a better idea of what I want to do and the steps I need to take to get there”.

The interactive nature of the event, with opportunities to speak directly with exhibitors, was highlighted as a significant positive. A parent commented, “It was inspiring to listen to people who are very passionate about their jobs, and they gave very good advice”.

The talks, particularly from the ex-student and the Careers Advisor, were praised for offering practical, actionable advice. Students felt more confident about pursuing apprenticeships and were reassured about the support available during their educational journey. One visitor commented about the exhibitors, “It was good to speak to people from different businesses to get an idea of what jobs are available”.

The Careers Fair provided students and parents with a wealth of information and inspiration. The high turnout and enthusiastic participation from exhibitors and attendees alike made it a memorable and impactful event. We look forward to continuing this tradition and supporting our students in making informed and confident decisions about their futures.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this evening such a success!
