Please note that school finishes at 12.15pm on Thursday 6th October. In addition, Friday 7th October is an INSET Day.

PE Kit Policy
Dear Parent and Carer,
I am writing to inform you about a change to Lymm High’s PE kit policy. As you are aware, all students that need to be excused from a PE lesson need to have an explanatory letter from their parent/carer. They also need to still get changed into their PE kit to undertake other roles where possible (e.g. leader or official).
From Monday 26th September, if students do not have their PE kits with them, they will need to wear one of our spare, clean kits.
Students have been made aware of this new requirement. We would appreciate your support in reminding your child to always bring their PE kit in to their lessons.
Yours sincerely,
Mr J Kerwin
Head of PE & Sport
Warrington Careers and Opportunities Fair – 12th October 2022
‘Your Future, Your Choice, Move On’ will feature over 50 employers, further and higher education opportunities, independent training providers, and voluntary organisations all with options to extend students aspirations and chances. Please click here for a list of exhibitors.
Attendance can be as an individual or with parents and guardians, and while not exclusive, the organisers are encouraging pupil premium and SEND students to attend in the first hour when extra support will be available.
“We are aiming to make the event as meaningful as possible for all the attendees and the varied range of employers, training and volunteering opportunities will give a broad breadth of possibilities to expand your students”, say the organisers.

Year 10 IAG – Thursday 22nd September 2022
Dear parents/carers,
I hope that you have all enjoyed a safe and restful summer break. We are delighted to be welcoming back our students and are looking forward to supporting Year 10 this year.
We understand that Year 10 can feel somewhat daunting for both students and their parents/carers, as students embark on their KS4 and GCSE courses, particularly given that we have experienced quite a bit of turbulence in education over the last two years. However, we are certainly hopeful that this year we can get back to feeling ‘normal’ and really want a positive start by ensuring that both parents and students feel informed and prepared for the year to come.
With this in mind, we would like to invite all parents and carers to our Year 10 Information and Guidance evening which will be held on Thursday 22nd September from 6pm-7pm in the Main Hall. We ask that students do not attend the evening as the information provided will be primarily aimed at parents and carers and the role that you can play in supporting your child through this year, as well as giving you an overview of what can be expected in Year 10.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Crowder,
Head of Year 10

Travel to school
When travelling to Lymm High, please drive carefully around school and watch out especially for children on bikes. Please remember there will be no access to the school car park for parents for at least the first two weeks of term at the beginning and end of the day. This is due to the completion of drainage works at the front of school. School buses will not be affected, but cars will not be allowed on site to drop off or pick children up before and after school. If you usually drive children to and/or from school, please arrange to drop them off and collect them as far from the school as possible.
We encourage children to walk or cycle to school where possible.
Regarding bus transport, there are diversions in place affecting the 40, 40B and 42A due to a road closure on Bradshaw Lane in Grappenhall. This is due to finish on 14th October. Buses are diverting via Knutsford Road, Stockport Road and Stanton Road.
If you need any information on the bus services or to find out how students can get their Touch and Go pass please visit this website: https://www.warringtonsownbuses.co.uk/lymm-high-school

Post-16 Choices
Year 10 students took part in a Post-16 Choices day on Thursday 7th July, which aimed to encourage them to think about their choices when they finish Year 11. Although this may seem a little premature, in reality, students will have to start making applications to their chosen colleges / apprenticeships during the Autumn term.
Throughout the day students took part in the following:
Assemblies from –
- Warrington and Vale Royal college on vocational courses
- Priestley college on T Levels
- Mrs Jennings on A’ Levels and those on offer from Lymm High School Sixth Form
Other sessions included:
- A subject fair run by our current Year 12 students to explore A’ Level courses
- A session on apprenticeships, what they are and how to find them
- A mock interview with one of the 40 employers (most of whom are current parents) who kindly volunteered and gave up their time to support the event.
The feedback from students was incredibly positive and we hope this has encouraged them to think about the variety of options they have available to them. The following websites are well worth looking at, with your child, should you wish to find out more:
- Choosing A’ Level courses – Pick a route | Informed Choices and the UCAS website to explore subject and entry requirements for degree courses UCAS | At the heart of connecting people to higher education
