We pride ourselves on giving all Year 7 students the opportunity to take part in a residential programme that is designed as an integral part of the Year 7 curriculum. This opportunity allows all students to continue their learning whilst staying at our wonderful outdoor education centre, Ty’n-y-Felin, on Anglesey. As tomorrow’s lessons will be on Teams, we kindly ask that you take a moment to look through the guidance on how to log in here, especially if you’re unsure about how to get started.

We understand that this is a little last minute, and there’s absolutely no need to panic. If you’re able to join, that would be fantastic – but don’t worry if you can’t.

Remember, the most important thing is not to stress!

Please spend today revising for your upcoming KS3 exams (20th – 24th January). The timetable is here so you can see when your exams are.

2. Click here for a blank revision timetable which is explained in the assembly – now use this to create your own – you can either print or type directly into it.

   Please use this today to complete revision activities suggested in the ‘how to revise’ video from Ms Crowder, and on the subject pages that have been set by your English, Maths and Science teachers. Please try to stick to the normal lesson times and take a break for lunch. Rotate between English, Maths and Science, doing no more than 30 mins of a subject at a time.
4. Also check Class Charts for any additional revision activities for your exams that your own subject teacher may have set you.

As you may be aware, most social media platforms, including  TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, What’s App, have a minimum age requirement of 13 years. This policy is in place to help protect younger users from exposure to inappropriate content and online risks.

Despite these age restrictions, we have observed that some of our students below the required age are actively using these platforms. While social media can have positive aspects, including communication and creativity, it also presents significant risks such as exposure to harmful content, cyberbullying, and potential breaches of privacy.

We are reaching out to all parents and guardians to work together in addressing this matter. Here are some steps we encourage you to take to ensure your child’s online safety:

1. Familiarise Yourself with Social Media Policies: Review the age restrictions and terms of use for platforms your child may be using. We recommend you access the following website Preteens (11-13-year-olds) online safety advice | Internet Matters.
2. Monitor Online Activity: Have open conversations with your child about their online habits and regularly review the apps they are using.
3. Set Boundaries: Consider limiting screen time and access to social media until your child meets the age requirements.
4. Educate About Online Safety: Discuss topics such as privacy, respectful communication, and the potential dangers of sharing personal information online.
