Congratulations, Class of 2024: best ever results….again!

Results days are full of emotion, a mixture of excitement and apprehension as the envelopes are opened and the eagerly anticipated results are revealed. They also provide a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the hard work of our students, and staff, over the previous 2 years and none more so than this year. We are delighted to say that the Year 13 students sitting their exams this year have done extremely well and have in fact surpassed the record set by last year’s cohort, to take the mantle of our best ever Post-16 results.

Mrs Jennings, Head of Sixth Form, said:

“I am absolutely delighted. This cohort has been an exceptional group of students, not just in terms of their exam results, but as well-rounded and delightful individuals. It has been a privilege to see how they have progressed over the last 2 years and the fantastic individual results they have achieved. I really am so proud of them.

Once again nearly all Lymm High Sixth Form students have already secured places at their preferred universities. This includes very high numbers heading off to the most prestigious institutions, including Oxbridge, and onto the most competitive courses, such as medicine.

Mr Williams, Headteacher, said:

“I’m extremely proud of all of our Year 13 students and the fantastic results they have achieved. Having faced disruption to a significant proportion of their school years due to the pandemic it is remarkable that they have gone on to achieve Lymm High School’s best ever Post-16 results. It is a fantastic testament to their hard work, determination and resilience.

These results underline the strength of our Sixth Form, which is built on an extremely committed, supportive and hard working Sixth Form team of teachers and support staff. I am delighted for the students and would also like to thank all the staff as well as parents and carers for the support they give to our fantastic students.

There are so many individual students who have performed brilliantly (including some who have had to overcome some very significant personal challenges) and it’s impossible to acknowledge every single success here. Traditionally though, we always mention the highest attaining students and so congratulations especially go to the following students who achieved A* in all of their A’ Levels: Thea Benson (4 A*), Robin Holden (4 A*), Ben Hutchison (4 A*), Lucy Quayle (4 A*), Erin Allsup (3 A*), Tom Bettridge (3 A*), Tin Chu (3 A*), Ben Gomm (3 A*), Anna Shaw (3 A*), Remi Tavernier (3 A*).

And the following students achieved at least three A*/A grades: Thomas Anderson, Asya Bagan, Tom Davies, Hannah Davies, Matthew Johnson, Eve Kayll, James Knowles, Dylan McNicholas, Barnaby Nicholson, Charlotte Storey, Lucy Williams, Nell Wynne-Roberts, Ella Yates.

Special mention also to Belle Caqueret who got a Distinction in Health & Social Care as well as A* A in her A’ Levels, Maddie Walsh who got D*D in Fashion and an A at A’ level, Leon Woodward-Palmer and Callum Doubleday who Achieved D*DD in the BTEC Sport Extended Diploma, and Ruby Stephens who achieved D*D* in Fashion & Textiles.

Well done again to everybody and, from everyone at Lymm High School, the warmest of best wishes to all Year 13 students taking those exciting next steps.
