At Lymm High School, we believe that all students should be provided with a challenging and tailored education designed to help them achieve their highest level possible. This differentiation encompasses our more able students. We believe that each student has the right to be stretched and challenged in their education; this is a true for those students who are more able, as it is for any other.
We aim to give all our more able students the opportunity to reach their full potential and, in doing so, create benefits for their fellow learners, the school and the wider community; as well as providing opportunities to extend and enrich their learning of individual subjects across the curriculum.
In line with our wider school belief that all students have potential and should aim high, we promote the belief that the keys to outstanding progress are a positive work ethic and resilience. This webpage has been developed to provide students, and parents, with the opportunity to exceed in subject areas, outside the syllabus and curriculum areas, and to allow students to excel academically.
We believe all students should be challenged, inspired and empowered by learning and that the classroom should be an engaging, inspiring place to learn. However, we also seek to develop and deepen knowledge beyond the classroom and to promote independence and a genuine love of learning. The links below aim to support the initiative of students who wish to pursue their academic interests, both in and outside the classroom.
“If you treat an individual as he is, he will remain how he is. But if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could be.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
