We have been informed by the bus operator that there will be some changes made to services 40 and 42, which will affect some students’ travel from September 2026.
Service 42 is to be withdrawn at the end of this month due to low numbers of passengers. We apologise to all families affected but this decision is totally out of our control. We’ve been told that as a partial replacement, service 40 will be extended to start at Grappenhall Heys and run via Appleton Thorn along the service 42 route. However, stops between Appleton Thorn and Massey Brook Lane will be unserved. Passengers using the Thorne Inn and Crofton Close stops in Appleton Thorn can board at Appleton Hall.
