Parking around the school site

We have recently been made aware of an incident at the Sixth Form exit. While no injuries or damage occurred, it served as an important reminder that this area is used by young drivers and is also accessed by students leaving the site on foot.

We kindly ask parents and carers to:

  • Keep all access routes and exits clear
  • Not park alongside, or block, the Sixth Form car park entrance
  • Not to use the Sixth Form entrance as a turning point

Your cooperation helps ensure the safety of all students, especially younger children and less experienced drivers, during busy departure times. Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our school community safe.

KS3 January exams

In the third week back after Christmas (19–23 January), Year 7, 8 and 9 students will be sitting exams in English, Maths and Science. These will assess knowledge and understanding of the content they’ve covered this academic year along with some consolidation of older work for Year 8 and 9.

Kindness term

We would like to thank the parents of our Year 7 – 9 students for their generous donations for the shoebox appeal. This year we have managed to produce 172 boxes for Manchester Street Angels, which is a record!
We are asking students in Years 10 – 13 to ‘club together’ in their Forms in order to provide Christmas presents for children associated with Warrington Youth Zone and Mission Christmas. We did this last year, and it was a huge success. The deadline to hand these gifts into Mr Hayes (S107) is Friday 12th December.
As part of our Kindness term, students have been having discussions in Form time to plan out an act of kindness. The best examples will secure prizes and a place on our hallowed ‘Wall of Kindness’. Please encourage your son/daughter to take part in this great initiative.

Cross-Country

A reminder that the next Walton Hall Gardens Cross Country Race is taking place on Saturday 13th December. To read the original letter sent home, click here. Please note, however, for this race:

  • The start time is now due to be 12pm.
  • Runners will be asked to wear a number to identify them from other year groups, so safety pins would be helpful. Although Mr Scott will bring a supply with him.

Any help parents could provide with marshalling or helping record scores, etc., would be much appreciated.
